Music by D9 – Douglas September

Washed in the Blood will be scored by Douglas September and will feature traditional folk songs from the public domain re-envisioned as only he can.

Goodbye Old Paint:
Goodbye Old Paint is a traditional cowboy song and Douglas September’s version was the original inspiration for the script. It also serves as the background music for this website.

Goodbye Old Paint
My foot in the stirrup, my pony won’t stand;
Good-bye, Old Paint, I’m a-leavin’ Cheyenne.
I’m a-leavin’ Cheyenne, I’m off for Montan';
Good-bye, Old Paint, I’m a-leavin’ Cheyenne.
I’m a-ridin’ Old Paint, I’m a-leadin’ Old Fan;
Good-bye, Old Paint, I’m a-leavin’ Cheyenne.
With my feet in the stirrups, my bridle in my hand;
Good-bye, Old Paint, I’m a-leavin’ Cheyenne.
Old Paint’s a good pony, he paces when he can;
Good-bye, little Annie, I’m off for Cheyenne.
Oh hitch up your horses and feed ‘em some hay,
And seat yourself by me so long as you stay.
My horses ain’t hungry, they’ll not eat your hay;
My wagon is loaded and rolling away.
My foot in my stirrup, my reins in my hand;
Good-morning, young lady, my horses won’t stand.
Good-bye, Old Paint, I’m a-leavin’ Cheyenne,
Good-bye, Old Paint, I’m a-leavin’ Cheyenne.

Amazing Grace:
Amazing Grace is one of the most famous hymns in the world. We’ve all heard it but never through D9’s lense. The thought is to destroy the traditional song but make it seem that this is how it was meant to sound from day one.

Amazing Grace
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;’
Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Are You Washed in the Blood?:
Religion, Blood, Revenge all mix in this film and this hymn encompasses it all, which is why it provides the film’s title.

Are You Washed in the Blood
Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Refrain

Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you walking daily by the Savior’s side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain

When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain

Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

Refrain
